These are the fungi-est things I've seen for a while. When I was a kid me and a friend found a bark fungi and thought it was a blood sucker, then put it in a jar with some leaves and took it home to find out it was'nt what we thought it was.
Do you mean a leech as a 'blood'sucker' Modroom? Hhehheee how long did it take to realise it was 'dead', and not an animal? Bet your parents had a giggle :)
Yes, a kind of big leech. Don't know why we gave it leaves really. It took as long to find out what it was as it took parents to tell us. We did'nt believe it at first. Things were simple in those days including me and my mate.
OH, I took some pictures of a tree with little fungi steps like these when at the graveyard. Mine didn't come as well, though - nor were my fungi as colorful.
It is the Egghead!! Judging by color and other qualities, I'd say he was related to the orange fungi.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I LOVE LOVE THESE!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! I LOVE YOU ANON for making these images. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Oh Anonny...these have just gone into my faves...I love the bottom two..I thought at first they were giant moths...
I love bark...my son was given a book when he was younger on bark photography..I think he has it so I couldnt tell you the author...but its amazing when u slow down in the bush what u see...
Thanks Abbey :) Maybe I should drop posting the Wildflowers and just post bark and fungi HAHHAA. You can only see birds if completely stop when in the bush :)

Thank you Perriette :) I'm inclined to believe BoiledEggInADeckchair could be a distant relation to fungi. We all are ... the earth works that way!

Noo! Not that kind. I only refer to these kind, the ones that grow on trees and rocks! No athlete's foot please.
