The new leaves of many bottlebrushes are very ornamental. The leaves are often coloured and, in some species, they are covered with fine, soft hairs.
i love flowers, anon!
i am mesmerized by the color of your sky. i want to paint that color.
You don't get blue skies KJ? That colour of sky is a curse when photographing flowers, especially around midday. It's best to have wispy white clouds :)
It is a good colour sky to look at though, and the reds go well with it. It looks hot, I suppose it is being there at the moment.
To look at with highly protective sunglasses so your eyes don't burn out Modroom! I was sunburnt.
wonderful pics! the red is so intense. :o)
Thanks Simon, yes the red is intense - in fact I can't actually see what it is I'm photographing with the sun and reds!
I just love these flora photographs. They have inspired me to darw the woods. Lovely continent/country. Australia is so special. Oh and I just love the accent. Many years ago, my lactation consultant was from Australia and I listened to every word she told me when she gave instructions.
I mean draw!
I think these two posts together make a brilliant study Anon, Bravo! Nice to have a look at a callistemon thats NOT Kings Park Special - which is about the only one to see in the garden centre - Thanks a tonne, I love to learn about our Aussie plants :)
Hi Ces, this Series was promised to YOU! HAHA.
Goodness! You need to change nurseries Lavender, there are many, many, many bottlebrushes for sale that are easy to grow in gardens and very hardy. Do a search online of plant nurseries and you'll see the variety :) Thank you!
Oh my yes! I found a better one today - Most impressive! Although I didnt come home with a new calistemon - its just a matter of time now! Tehehe
HAHA! Don't wait too long or they won't be flowering and more difficult to choose between! Did you remember to look for Flannels Lavender?
Thanks again Anon.
My pleasure Ces :)
I was wondering if they were prickly or soft. Reminds me a bit of Mimosa.
Very soft but not the fruits! Mimosa the cocktail-like drink, Perriette?
Mimosa the flower which grows on trees. Have some righ outside my balcony - not this time of year, though. Have photos somewhere, will try to find them.
OHHHHHH! Yes, it would help to see some photographs of 'Mimosa', Perriette.
