Most banksias are medium shrubs but some are prostrate and a few can become large trees.
Gorgeous shots of incredible trees Anon! And so cool to see the city from 'the bush' :)
Thanks Lavender! Those Banksias with a view live in precious scrub along with grass trees and coastal tea-trees :)
I wish we had trees like these. I love the view.
Very interesting. I particularly like the first few close-ups, but it is also nice to see the form and setting of the tree.
They probably wouldn't grow Ces, only two Banksias live outside Australia ... That's Sydney Harbour Ces!!
Thanks Mary Stebbins Taitt, these photographs are more a study than 'artistic' shots to show the plants' whole diversity :)
Mmmnnnn I think I lost my comment!
Anyhoo:- Did you see snuggle pot or cuddle pie anwhere abouts??
I really like Banksia a lot and your photos have inspired me to to do a bushwalk this weekend and find some!
anwhere? geez I cannot type... sorry anYwhere
OH! That happens sometimes Simon - most puzzling. NO I didn't see Snuggle-Pot or Cuddle-Pie but I did find their wardrobe which will be posted later ;) That's GREAT news Simon! There are Banksias about now and you have a type in the Mountains we don't get in Sydney - so look out for the missing Banksia from above :)
Looks like a tree full of BIRDS! You sure you are not trying to sneak in a bird photo here? teehee
Hhehhehhee *TWEET!* No Perriette, the photos with birds have been saved for the bird blog ;)
will do!
HAHA, I tried to find what it's called Simon, but can't find it! Maybe I'm wrong, but it wouldn't hurt looking for something that isn't there because you might just find something new HAHHAA.
