Cymbidium Gypsy Fire! Thus ends the Orchid Show until next year when the orchids that didn't flower this year, will.

Butter Nut

These are my Butter Nuts. Have tubs and tubs of these but only two tubs flowered this year. However, one tub has six flowering sprays! These Cymbidiums are distant relations to Sunshine Falls 'Butterball', and are afraid to open as fully as the others, keeping their bonnets framing their shy faces. They yellow with age.

Lover spelt 'Lava'

This is Bearman's Orchid. At a guess, it's a medium sized hanging Ruby Brook 'Falling Fire' and Cymbidium Bicolour because it looks like Lava! Spot the bud that's swallowed its tongue. Hint: It has bucked teeth.

Amazing Dream

Real name Blazing Dream! Here the sleeping Frog is having an amazing dream!

Hanna

Looks like Strawberry Swirl Icecream is related to Hanna! My guess is she is a Cymbidium Vanguard crossed with a Hanalei but have had her for longer than any of the other girls. There are lots of pots of her and I forget why her name is Hanna apart from her reminding me of a group of 'Pink Girls' like the ones seen in American College movies. You know, the girls I mean (can an American help me here). They appear squeaky clean and desirable but are quite the opposite. Here they are blabbing their mouths, not singing :)

Strawberry Swirl Icecream

A cross between Cronulla Ici and Joan of Arch Cymbidiums. This orchid produced two spires this year with the first photograph showing what the flower usually and should look like. THIS is what it looked like last year. However, the other photographs show the second spire quite different from the first, and losing its fine pointed pinkiness! Traditionally called Strawberry Swirl Icecream, I may have to change its name next year due to busy bees!

Hot Lips

A Cymbidium with long forgotten name. I call her Hotlips due to her full fiery but sultry bottom lips!

Glady Pot

The bulb to this small but abundant Cymbidium spray which resembles a Vanguard, was picked up from beside a footpath and brought home by my youngest son. Planted into the Gladioli Pot for winter colour, because the pot was only colourful during summertime - hence the name 'Glady Pot'.

Frog

This is my Frog! When standing over this Cymbidium like the angle in the last photograph, you will see a resting frog surrounded by greenness in each bud. Not surprising named Esmeralda, and a cross between Sleeping Beauty and Sussex Moor. Beautiful sleeping frogs!

Tiny Natives

Thelychiton kingianus, my only Australian natives that flowered this year!

Cymbidium erythraeum 'Paradise' and Hazel Tyers 'Santa Maria'. See the Dragon roar!

Melting Butter

My orchids have been named by myself, but will keyboard what they actually are if I know. This Cymbidium is a cross between a Geyserland Golden Cascade and a Coratea Rewa - my Melting Butter. See, the butter is rolling off their hot tongues!

Spring has Sprung
