Better in a tree than flying overhead! I always feel like going for the duck and cover when watching the outdoor cinema on the harbour! They fly into the Botanical gardens en masse! Great shots

Hhehheeee, I went batty with the bats in the rainforest area Baino :) There are lots hanging above when walking through Manly at night also! They visit our house for a week to a fortnight a year!!!

I find them amazing. One of the most spectacular sights is to see them fly down from the mountains towards Sydney. Its like something out of a Poe story!

Guess bird stalkers are also batty Simon :) We sure don't miss out on wildlife when living in Sydney (including surrounds).

simon said...

I agree. the more you look the more there is to see!

I love bats of all shapes and sizes. Last year I had the joy of being int he direct flight path of a local fruit bat colony. Nothing like sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine (or fruit juice) watching the many thousands take flight.

Thanks muchly anony :-)

Very true Simon!

Oh wow Mountaingirl, haven't had that happen, only in a glowworm cave when a kid and couldn't see the tiny bats, only felt them! Must have been amazing - even better than being in the BEES flight path! Hhehheee

Try the Glow worn tunnel in Newnes!

I would have to agree too Mtngrl

HAHA!! I'll be going batty for a week Perriette!

Oh dear, you had better hide in the wardrobe Ces! Perriette would say Hi back but she's busy stealing cute fuzzy creatures :)

simon said...

yes...it does........ BTW the bat has dancers arms.. :o)

Newnes walks are beautiful. Did you know that there is a resort being built in the Valley? :o(

true. it will ruin it.

Wow - you really do have the most wonderful wildlife and get to see it too.

Yesterday I saw a bee
but it was too fast for me.

The bat is moving from first to second position Simon! No I didn't know that about the valley, it's a shame!

Oh dear, that is SAD Caroline! Click on my 'BEE link' word in the comments above and look at the post full screen - you'll feel better about missing out ;)

THIS IS A SERIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT
I have been over zealous watching this week's news online and have eaten up almost ALL of this month's internet quota! This means I can only visit other blogs before midday and miss any media items that have been posted until MARCH!?! I may appear to have disappeared but I'm still here and NOT very happy. Please don't email, it might cost a post which I will still try to maintain uploading. *sigh*

simon said...

yes :o/

Caroline said...

I hadn't noticed that link before...

Now that is scary and Oct 13th (the date on your post) is my birthday.

Caroline said...

Your internet quota seems overly stingy!

Should we refrain from commenting too?

simon said...

oooppps- I emailed.
sorry Anon.

WILSON!!!!! ;o(

Anonymous said...

Oh dear that IS scary Caroline! :O
Our monthly quota is 10000MB! Ooops. Please keep commenting, I will comment back in my mornings unlike now. Oops again!

Ooops Simon! Yes, that also means no emails from Simon :) No need to swear off Mount Wilson, but Councillor Wilson IS employed by Delta!

Night, night everyone don’t let the bats bite
};-}

I wanted to e-mail you this morning but will wait another 6 or 8 weeks...Hheheheheh.. :) *snif* Sorry, I have a cold... That bat really looks like a fox! Strange! But nice! First time I see such a beautiful animal! :)

Anonymous said...

They are beautiful MerlinPrincesse! You will still be seeing them until the end of the week from all angles :) Maybe if you swam out of the water your cold will heal faster? Faster than 6 to 8 weeks!

Modroom is commenting on the photographs in the post MerlinPrincesse *sigh* Oh, I thought mermaids were found in water. I hope you don't have a brand new cold in March!

merlinprincesse said...

Those days, mermaids are completely frozen. * Atchi* *snif* blah!
