Its just fantastic! I did the same... I took photos of the most incredible green that comes out after a fire! At the end of 2006 when we had a fire in the Burralow ( or was it 2005..?)

Thanks Simon :) Seems to me there have been fires every Summer except for this year and this fire! In New South Wales anyway ... These were taken this year after burn-offs to prevent fire reaching homes in Sydney BUT went out of control into a raging bushfire ;)

Fire is the heat and light energy released during a chemical reaction, in particular a combustion reaction. Depending on the substances alight, and any impurities within, the color of the flame and the fire intensity might be hot and burn something.

Flaming fires involve the chemical oxidation of a fuel (combustion or release of energy) with associated flame, heat, and light. The flame itself occurs within a region of gas where intense exothermic reactions are taking place with a cigarette lighter and wind release.

Prof. fufu-u sure knows a lot about hot air. The green plants are such stark contrast to the burnt plants and trees.

Is that a giant bush monster? I've heard of those.

I keep meaning to ask you, Anon: What new outfit are you wearing in your avatar? I've never seen you so colorful. Are you turning into Jack?

Professor Fu-fu, your hot air lets us know things we would otherwise never know! Thanks for telling us about the cigarette lighter (shhhhh it's a secret between everyone online ;)

The stark contrasts were the ingrediant for these photos Ces!

A Professor agreeing instead of professing!

No, that is not a bunyip Perriette. If it were a bunyip, these images would never had made it home! That's my birthday suit. I'm MORE stark than the images above!

YAY life Mary Stebbins Taitt!!!

I'm most relieved to see some life - this morning I kicked two buckets and they both broke!

OH DEAR Caroline! We are ALL relieved :)

It's amazing how quickly things recover after a bushfire, helped I suppose by recent rain. I've had to get my paddock slashed for the first time ever! Lovely contrast of the dark and bright.

Thanks Baino :) Our backyard is looking like a paddock at the moment with grass almost knee high! Normally we have dead grass in February ...
