This is the beginning of creatures seen during the school holidays. The photographs are taken by the AnonyFamily!
Wonderfully and slinky! [Skinky?]
Yes, skinks ElizT Hhehheeee :)
these are great shots! Did the skink sit still??
Thanks Simon :) Which skink? They are all different ones - Remember I waited for the lighting to be just right for the first before it scooted into the shadows, the second was slow to move and quite large, and the bottom one was running when photographed!
ah ha! My son and I try to catch them before photgraphing them! Thats a lot of fun too!
We do sometimes play with the ones in the backyard :)
us too- although Monty gets fed up ;o)
They must have tiny socks and chairs.
Can imagine a snake wanting dinner instead of play in a game like that Simon!
They like to hide in and under our socks and chairs Harry Blown - so don't need their own :)
Oh.
Sorry to disappoint you ...
No.
I like your small creatures.
Good Harry Blown :)
Thankyou Perriette :) Thanks for visiting!
Great beetle! Cool Lizards! Nice shots, how fun!
That's a Christmas Beetle, bit late in the year or too early, Mary Stebbins Taitt :)
I love coming here - I have never seen a Christmas Beetle before - very festive :-)
I love the skins but I think my favorite shot is that of the dragonfly :-)
If a film instead of photograph you would see the Christmas Beetle changes colour when rotated in the light, Mountaingirl :) Dragonflies are FAST!
Oh the lacertids look very cool.
HAHA very clever Ces, ours must be of the genus Australolacerta!
they're the skinks that live on my PC switch and poo on my carpet but they're good at cleaning up the Christmas Beetle carcuses. Give you a shock now and then when a tail disappears under the couch!
They are also very good at eating flies off the windowsills Baino ;)
That beetle would make a nice bead... Not that I want to make a hole into it and string it... Nononono! Just copy it. With clay or something like that. The colours are so beautiful! :)
That blog does not accept other comments than the ones of bloggers... That is why Auntie Rita told us that she was not able to comment here... :)
I think the beetle would be most suited to enamaling MerlinPrincesse! OH BLAH, I was sure this blog was changed for 'anonymous' comments but is now Aunty Rita :)
You are cool! She will be pleased! (We were talking about you just yesterday on the phone... heheheh)...
I don't do enamaling.... But clay with a very glossy acrylic would do the thing.... :)
Only GOOD things on the phone I hope MerlinPrincesse ;) Just try not to dent the beetle's surface because they are smooooooth .... Also, stoneware clay would be better than earthenware with that in mind :) OH I think you might be talking about a clay you don't need to bake in a kiln?
