No tides in Michigan--reminds me of that book, High Tide in Tucson, by Barbara Kingsolver--ever read that?
If you stick your toes into that, they will be cool Mary Stebbins Taitt! Hmmmm, dam levels change here the slowest but having no tide is a mystery to me. The title of that book sounds familiar ;)
