I have a Bird’s nest fern in a pot and call it my 'Lettuce'!
We have many of these in my Mother's garden. Some are huge and they sometimes cling to the tree trunks! This reminds me of my childhood :-) Thanks Anon.
Those are probably Staghorns Ces, which are very similar but usually found growing off trees. I'll be doing a post of those on the weekend, so you can be reminded of childhood again Ces :)
More gorgeous shots Anon, ALL the shots you added yesterday are - dont know how I missed them....all look so lush and cool and wild. Gorgeous!
Being lush, cool and wild is attractive Lavender! :)
i have some, or darn near close to some. i love how they curl and then open.
as for lavender's description of "lush and cool and wild", i would like that for one enchanted evening...haha
Yes, their curly bits are fun to watch unfurl KJ :) Wouldn't we all want that KJ HAHA!! Only one evening ...?
lush and cool? ahahahahah!
Oh! I bougth a new camera Anon- an Olympus U770SW..... its water PROOF to 30 metres and can handle a 100kg weight beiong dropped on it and it little and it means I do not have to have a HUGE camera wrapped around my neck whilst riding or bushwalking.
Its a little small ie the buttons, which is not helped by my hands BUT>>> you cannot have everything!
Darn typos!:- bougth= bought!
Beiong= being!
.."and it little"= and it's little.....
Sorry
No need to apologise about typos around here Simon, you can even blame spelling on them! WOW you can drop, dunk and crush your new camera Simon!!! I want photographic evidence ;)
Do slacker birds ever actually nest in them?
Very cool! SUPER neat fiddlheads! An awfully pretty fern!
HAHHAAA, haven't seen any slacker birds nesting in them Tony, but it would make as a fun fort if an insect!
Is the 'fiddlehead' description an official one Mary Stebbins Taitt? Because previous posted fern trees were named the same by several bloggers. I always think of ring tailed possums :)
You were in a carrot patch DRRRRR.
Fiddlesticks BoiledEggInADeckchair!
Piddlesticks.
It's true you can often hear running water close to a Bird's Nest! Just as well you don't wear trousers BoiledEggInADeckchair, although your Deckchair will need a rinse. Piddlesticks is an appropriate name for your chair!
Woah! Poor Boiledegginadeckchair...
I think he is shattered! :o)
No 'poor' BoiledEggInADeckchair Simon! He is rich with comments! Also impossible to shatter, I have been trying for a long time ... :)
