Cadmans Cottage





Constructed in 1816, this is one of Sydney's eldest surviving buildings.

I like the colours of the stone, shame the plumbers did'nt finish the job though. Did they go for a cup of tea?

OH WOW!

That is exactly what I exclaimed when I saw the first photograph.

What a striking cottage, although I would not call it a cottage. It looks bigger than my house. You photographed it so well, calling attention to it with such intensity that made me say:

OH WOW!

Oh WOW Ces, thanks for your comment :) The cottage was built to accommodate Government Coxswain who is the officer responsible for government boats and crew. Twenty boats linked all settlements around Sydney and Newcastle from here!

Raj Shrestha, it's what Sydney Harbour National Park called a "vaneer of mournful paint". It looks like coats of lime on the sandstone to me :)
