The bulb to this small but abundant Cymbidium spray which resembles a Vanguard, was picked up from beside a footpath and brought home by my youngest son. Planted into the Gladioli Pot for winter colour, because the pot was only colourful during summertime - hence the name 'Glady Pot'.
I think youve done a very good job with your sons, I like these curious and clever lads of yours! This is one is a cracker - before I read your text I dubbed it "Confetti Lips" Tehehe Its a party in a pot Anon, Bravo!
Yes amazing Ces! He said he hoped it was and I guessed it most likely was an orchid but we had to wait for its 'surprise bloom' to be sure. My sons give the best gifts in the world :) The bulb probably fell from someones garden clean-up pile being left on the kerb to be collected.
Hhehheee, my lads just know what I like Lavender. They also have interest in such things because ... my sons. I LOVE your name for this orchid and it's about time it isn't called the "Glady Pot" any more. The bulb was just a bulb in the pot for five years before it flowered and now needs re-naming! I here-by name this orchid 'Confetti Lips'!!!
Hehehe Im honored! And very pleased it amused you so! Suits it to the ground it does, Hooray for Confetti Lips! Five years in the coming, good onya for your dedicated growing - Im having fun imagining your sons face knowing it was an orchid and about to bloom after he's waited five years for it to do so! Happy dance here, Thanks Anon :)
HAHA, "Confetti Lips" is more fun to say than "Glady Pot" Red Mojo! I'm pleased my garden looks that way because a luscious retreat is the aim. I try to just sit down there even if only ten minutes in a day. Even if raining!
Were you eating pizza or kissing KJ? HAHHAHHAAAA
Your glad pot musn't have turned into a party Modroom!
Perriette, back in fine form as ... herself };-} Thank you, again this year you are too late and the blooms are already expiring... oh dear.

Being a short stalk with lots of small flowers, the bottom is already passing away before the top has opened. Reminds me of a caterpillar.
I love how you come up with the names and that son of yours, is he the same one who gave you the bird skull? What a sweetheart.
That was my youngest son this time, Ces. He was very excited the bulb turned out to be an orchid. None of us were really sure :)
That is amazing to find an orchid in one's walk!

Confetti Lips is gorgeous! What an incredible find.
Your garden looks like a lucious retreat where no worries or stress can stick to you.
Wonderful!
i've been called confetti lips and i think it was either a compliment or an insult. haha!
These were well worth rescuing. I've had glad pot in the past but it did'nt look like that.

Big bloomers.
Perriette won't like your pointing them out BoiledEggInADeckchair. OH the orchid ... yes, a big bloomer too
;)
I'm always in fine form!!!
HA.HA.HA. My bloomers are not big and at least I wear some (NO, not on my head!)
I think Modroom is very fond of glad pot judging by that avatar. He also might be very wide, so those big bloomers may be for him.
I do hope you will be in fine form with no orchids on your birthday, Perriette :)
You are right Perriette! Modroom could be wearing giant bloomers anywhere from under his armpits down!
NO orchids? Then NO, I won't be in fine form, thank you very much!
Indeed!!! hehheheeeeee
Pleasure Periiette };-} I don't have the power to revive the dead. Do you?
Hhehhehehheeee.
Yes.
Now I hear that he wears combat boots and a tutu...I won't name my source (the Egg), but I believe it!
WHAT is wrong with combat boots and a tutu Periette? That's what I wore to my WEDDING!
Beautiful, and they look real.
They ARE real Hardwax! Hehehee
