The sun is shining brilliantly in my window and it is HOT outside--and clearly still day time--ON FRIDAY, August 1. It always surprises me, even though intellectually I understand it, that you are on another day--a new day--before us. Yes, yes, I understand, but it is still so STRANGE.

The furry looking 'growth' in the last image is actually a fruticose Lichen (Usnea sp.)...
Yeah that little orangy lichen is a beauty.
Hi Alan :) I was thinking it might be the 'flower' of the standard green lichen on the branches. However didn't see anymore elsewhere...
Nice little mushrooms! We also have irish moss (the gray little things, lichen? 3rd pic) on trees sometimes. It's interesting to see these close ups!

Those mushrooms were TINY Maria! Yes, I warmed up at your place :) However it was sunny today; warmer but with a lot of August wind!
